Teacher Parties

 

TOUR D’EDISON (Hosted by Mr. Papadogiannis)

It's not the Tour de France, but it's the next best thing! Children, parents, and siblings meet at Mill Race Cyclery (11 E State St, Geneva, IL along the Fox River Valley bike trail.) We will bike an 11-mile loop along the trail, stop at a playground, check out a real windmill, see the Japanese Garden of the re-designed Frank Lloyd Wright Fabyan villa and visit a nature center. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in Batavia along the river. We will also stop at an ice cream shop for dessert. Bikes and trailers can be rented. Reservations are recommended as supplies are limited. *Kids should be able to ride 11 miles on their bike or trailers can be rented and pulled by an adult. $40 per person (All Grades)

HARRY POTTER WORKSHOP (Hosted by Mr. Vernola)

Prepare for your first year at Hogwarts! Mr. Ollivander—er, Mr. Vernola—will help you make a wand that's just right for you. While the paint dries, you'll experience your first Potions Lesson, enjoy snacks, and watch a Harry Potter movie. $60 per person (All Grades)

BOWLING PARTY (Hosted by Ms. Strelecki) 

Join 5th Grade teacher Mrs. Strelecki for an afternoon of bowling at Habetler Bowl (Northwest Highway & Foster). The highest bidder and two of their guests will meet after school at Habetler Bowl, bowl 3 games, then have snacks and pizza. All Grades.

BEACH PARTY (Hosted by Ms. Silvers, Ms. Johnson, & Mr. Carlson)

Looking for a day in the sun? Join these amazing primary grade teachers for some beach fun at Foster Beach. You'll enjoy soaking up the rays, beach volleyball, sandcastle building and (of course) Great Lake water fun. Siblings welcome! All children must be accompanied by at least one adult. Families should bring appropriate snacks/drinks. $25 per family (Grades K-2)

ICE CREAM SOCIAL (Hosted by Ms. Valentine & Ms. Passolt)

Join us for some fun in Edison’s courtyard and play lot! We'll make our own sundaes, play with bubbles and make some sidewalk art with chalk. Meet in the play lot on June 22nd at 1pm and pick up at 3 pm. Siblings under five are welcome, but must purchase a spot and be accompanied by an adult. $25 per person (Grades K-2)

BITSPACE PARTY  (Hosted by Ms. Doyle)

Tinker, build, create with Ms. Doyle and Bitspace! Spend 2 hours 3D printing, laser cutting, constructing and more. After a short workshop, you will develop a unique creation and finish up with refreshments and games. $100 per person (Grades 3-5)

RAILCAR ESCAPE (Hosted by Ms. Valentine & Ms. Passolt)

Can you imagine being locked in a railcar with your Principal and School Counselor? Well, 8 imaginative kids can do just that—and have 60 minutes to solve the puzzles needed to escape! Join Mrs. Valentine and Mrs. Passolt for a mind-bending adventure that will challenge you and your friends. Kids will meet at 4:45pm at Railcar Escape (1579 N. Milwaukee Ave.) Dinner immediately following at Piece Pizza. Pick-up will be at Piece Pizza at 7:00pm. $100 per person (Grades 3-5)

AN AFTERNOON AT THE THEATRE (Hosted by Ms. Corbett and Ms. Ng)

Join Ms. Corbett and Ms. Ng at the hilarious and warm-hearted variety show put on by the Barrel of Monkeys ensemble. "That's Weird, Grandma: Rise of the Rock Spectacular" features stories conceived and written by Chicago Public School students and adapted into a full hour of original songs, complete with a new opening band each week! Enjoy a "talk back" session with the performers and a sweet treat after the show. $30 per person (Grades 2 and up. Parents welcome but each attendee must purchase a ticket.)

MURDER MYSTERY DINNER (Hosted by Ms. Corbett)

Join Ms. Corbett in solving a witch- and wizard-themed mystery over dinner. You will receive your character ahead of the dinner party. Costumes encouraged! Expect surprises and treats (both murderous and otherwise). Will be held at Heidi Steiner & Dan Weiss's house. Will send address and phone number to those attending. $100 per person (Grades 3-4)

NIGHT AT THE MOVIES: FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM (Hosted by Mrs. Dandurand)

Please join Mrs. Dandurand for an exclusive showing of FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM. Together we’ll explore explore the wizarding world and enjoy Harry Potter-themed snacks like butter beer, every flavored beans, golden snitches and MORE. $25 per person (Grades 4-8)

SKY HIGH PARTY (Hosted by Ms. Shanahan, Mr. Barber & Ms. Drinkwater) 

6th through 8th graders can join Mr. Barber, Ms. Drinkwater and Ms. Shanahan at Sky High Trampoline Park in Niles. Challenge your friends (or teachers!) to a rousing game of dodge ball, bounce on wall-to-wall trampolines, go nuts in a huge foam pit, shoot sky high hoops, and more! Pizza, snacks, and water included. $75 per person (Grades 6, 7, 8)

TRIVIA NIGHT (Hosted by Ms. Valentine & Ms. Passolt)

Are you a trivia buff? Compete against 11 of your friends for the title of ERGC Trivia Master! 12 lucky students will have the opportunity to vie for this title while chowing down on Chicago's finest deep-dish pizza! Join Mrs. Valentine and Mrs. Passolt as they emcee the trivia contest and pizza party at Lou Malnati's in Lincoln Square (4340 N Lincoln Ave) from 4:00pm - 6:00pm on July 18th. Kids will be dropped off and picked up at this location. $60 per person. (Grades 6-8)
